Biolan Bokashi Starter Set is perfect for beginners who are new to composting and looking to reduce food waste and enrich their garden soil.

Bokashi is the fermentation of organic matter with the help of microbes. Fermentation takes place in an anaerobic Bokashi bin by effective micro-organisms.

The Biolan Bokashi Compost Bin is an easy, practical, and stylish way to reduce organic waste at home.

  • Helps to recycle food waste at home
  • Produces plant-nutritious liquid and fermented scraps
  • No odor, No flies
  • Easy to use
  • Compact and Stylish design

Biolan Bokashi converts kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich pre-compost and fertilizer (known as bokashi tea).

Pre-compost is ideal for adding to a garden composter or directly to the soil, this process enriches your garden with beneficial microbes and nutrients, promoting healthier and stronger plant growth.

Bokashi tea is a nutrient-dense liquid fertilizer. This “tea” can be easily collected through the well-designed tap, providing an excellent organic fertilizer for all your plants. It supports robust plant growth, giving them the nutrients they need to thrive.

The airtight seal and secure lid of the bins prevent unpleasant odors from escaping and keep flies at bay, making them perfect for indoor use.

The modern and stylish design of the Bokashi bins fits into any kitchen space. This thoughtful design not only complements your kitchen but also provides practical functionality.Compact size is ideal for typical household waste production, handling about two weeks’ worth of organic matter. If you want to keep composting continuously, it’s best to get two-bucket set. That way you can fill one bucket with waste and then begin filling the other bucket while the first is going through its 14-day fermentation cycle.

Using the Bokashi bin is easy. Simply add your kitchen waste, sprinkle the included EM-Bokashi bran, tamp it down, and close the lid. Drain the liquid every few days, and once the bin is full, let it ferment for 2 weeks. The resulting pre-compost can then be added to your garden composter or soil, completing a smooth and efficient composting cycle.

Biolan Bokashi Starter Set helps to reduce the amount of waste ending up in landfills.

  1. Add Organic Waste: Begin by adding your organic kitchen waste to the Bokashi bin.
  2. Sprinkle Bran and Tamp Down: Sprinkle about two tablespoons of Biolan EM® bran over the waste, tamp it down with the pressing plate, and close the lid. Repeat daily until the bin is full.
  3. Drain Bokashi Liquid: Every few days, drain the Bokashi liquid using the tap. This liquid can be used as a powerful fertilizer for your house and garden plants.
  4. Fermentation Period: Once the bin is full, leave it to ferment for 2 weeks to allow the waste to break down completely.
  5. Post-Fermentation: After the fermentation period, add the fermented matter directly to your garden composter or dig it into your garden soil to enhance soil fertility and microbial activity.
